In
Lorraine, chateaux and gardens tend to bring out the beauty
in each other.
Haroué is the chef d'oeuvre of Boffrand in wich no
visual boundary divides the park of rocks and trees from
the calm Vallée du Madon (Madon Valley). Stanislas
loved this park, as he did the park near the chateau de
Fléville -one of the most magnificent abodes in Eastern
France. But he can truly be said to have put all his effort
into the Parc des Bosquets in Lunéville...
Lorraine's original and remarkable heritage of one
hundred parks and gardens are open from May onwards.
These poetic and magical places dazzle the senses.
Their designers, landscapers and gardeners are true
artists, and devise artistic arrangements of plants
and stones that delight the eye. There is an astonishing
variety of vegetables and flower gardens, under both
secular and monastic ownership, such as the garden
of Autrey Abbey...

The fermes-auberges from Lorraine
will welcome you to their table to appreciate the
traditional and modern country cooking
The farm-house is a restaurant with or without accommodation
(bed + breakfast+restaurant). The priority is to use
their own fresh farm produce. It is generally advisable
to book in advance .
In the chambres d'hôtes, you'll
be treated as a special guest and invited to explore
the region by farmers and country folk who have converted
their home to provide accomodation on a bed and breakfast
basis. Properties are generally small with no more
than six rooms ensuring a relaxed atmosphere and friendly
service. See the website
